Business electric driving + Congestion = need for new concepts<\/h1>\n
Within 2 years, there will be dozens of Zero Emission Zones in the Netherlands. Thousands of businesses need to switch to electric transportation. Yet, there is no space on the power grid. How can we still make it work? Barnebies answers this question for the National Knowledge Center Charging Infrastructure as the lead organization in the project Digital Infrastructure for Future Mobility.<\/span><\/a>. Our assignment:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • Investigate the technical and economic preconditions for modular, temporary, buffered charging infrastructure for business mobility and logistics<\/li>\n
  • Explore policy issues surrounding vehicle-grid interconnection points<\/li>\n
  • Organize hackathons and conferences on the above theme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What are we doing?<\/h1>\n
      \n
    • In the economic study, we examine who would benefit most from an Energy Pod – a charging solution with an integrated buffer battery designed to allow small-scale connections to charge as many vehicles as possible.<\/li>\n
    • We conduct concept development: How much power and capacity should the energy pod have? How many plugs? We also explore the revenue model and the societal acceptance of these new elements in the network.<\/li>\n
    • We explore the social preconditions for energy pods: How do local communities and businesses feel about large charging infrastructure? What are the cyber and environmental risks? What policies are in place (needed)?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
